This giveaway is inspired by SweetLeaf's "Kick the Soda Habit" Campaign.  I know this will interest many of you as the most popular post on my blog is....drum roll......Homemade Stevia Pop!  I can proudly say that I haven't had a conventional soda since January 15th, 2012 and SweetLeaf has played a big role in that.  How?

When I decided to give up sugar, I also gave up artificial sweeteners.  While I wasn't a big pop drinker, I found it really hard to give up Crystal Light.  Thankfully, it was winter, and I mostly drank tea.  But when summer hit, that's when the cravings started.  All I wanted was something cold, sweet and fizzy to drink.  It's a good thing SweetLeaf came to the rescue!

I began by adding SweetLeaf's SteviaClear to my Iced Teas.  After purchasing my SodaStream, I experimented with fizzy drinks too.  I added SteviaClear to my fizzy lemon-limeade and to my homemade ginger-ale.   As you can tell, I like using ingredients in my drinks that detoxify the body, and adding a few drops of SweetLeaf SteviaClear makes any beverage a yummy treat!

I'm always experimenting with SteviaClear and different ingredients.  My new favorite drink came about just last week when I spiked my fizzy water with hubby's tart cherry juice concentrate (Sh! Don't tell him!).

Cherry-Lemon Fizz
(Has a total of 5 grams of sugar)

 500 ml Fizzy Water
Juice from 1/2 lemon (or one Lemon juice ice cube)
SteviaClear to taste (15 drops)

This year, I managed to successfully reverse my pre-diabetes, but I will always be concerned with how much sugar and carbs I consume.  Think about this:  One can of soda has over 32 grams of sugar.  That's 8 teaspoons of sugar per can!!!  Drinking conventional soda is just not worth it when I can make my own fizzy drinks.  So, what if you're struggling with a soda habit?  SweetLeaf also makes flavored SweetDrops in all sorts of great soda flavors like Cola.   Why not give it a try!

To help you get on your way, we're giving away one prize pack consisting of:

  • One 2-oz. bottle of Cola Sweet Drops, to curb your cola cravings AND
  • One 2-oz. bottle of SteviaClear Sweet Drops, for you to come up with your own beverage concoctions!

Now here's the bad news :(  My wonderful fellow Canadians and non-US readers can not enter this giveaway.  If you're interested in trying SweetLeaf products, iherb does ship worldwide (their shipping is cheap and it's where I get all my SweetLeaf products).  All first-time customers get $5 off their first order using coupon code KEP382.  That's five dollars off a bottle of SweetLeaf!  Here's a link to the Cola flavor. (Shipping within the US is free!)
